Sunday of Fishing Opener 2010

Catching Walleyes with Jeff's Guide Service

On Sunday I guided Chuck Schaffer and Jeff Finden of Mpls.  We left the dock at 7 am and by 11:30 we had caught 19 and kept 12.  The others were in the slot.  The first 7 in about 15 minutes were 19" - 23".  We were fishing with 1/8 oz. jigs and rainbows.  Pictured above is Chuck from Minneapolis with a 23' walleye caught on Tues. morning.  We caught 7 and kept 6 on jigs again.  The lake has been flat.  When we get a good blow it should really pick up.
The water temp was around 57 degrees opening weekend.

Chuck Schaffer fished with me again Wed. morning.  We caught 13 and kept 8.  We were fishing jigs and rainbows in 12' of water, sand and rocks.  Chuck in these 2 photos released a 22 1/2"  and a 24" walleye.
